Oracle Linux downloads can be verified to ensure that they are exactly the downloads as published by Oracle and that they were downloaded without any corruption. For checksum files, signing keys and steps to verify the integrity of your downloads, see these instructions.
In addition locations listed above and Oracle Software Delivery Cloud, Oracle Linux ISOs can be download from several mirror sites. Note that these site are not endorsed by Oracle, but that you can verify the downloaded files using the procedure outlined above.
Is this the full verson of oracle, equivalent to the one you get on cd whenyou buy a licence? Are there any restrictions on number of users etc. on theversion that can be downloaded for their website?Best regards,Thomas
There are no time-limits; there are no bits of 'crippleware' floatingaround. Everything works exactly as it would off the purchased CD set.The only twist is in the license. The not-so small print states that youmust not use the downloaded software for commercial purposes... so it can'tlegally be used in a full-blown production environment. You also can't useit to offer education or training to anyone else. It's purely for your ownlearning, testing and evaluation purposes. The other slight drawback when compared with a proper purchased version isthat you don't get an account on Metalink, where the latest bug reports andfixes and patches are located. There's obviously no support for it, either.Very much a case of 'you're on your own'.RegardsHJR
Viewed 1000+ timesYou Asked Dear Tom, Can you please tell me from where can I download Pro*C for windows version. I have already installed Oracle 8i, but it seems to me that there are no precompilers installed.I have browsed a lotta web sites but could'nt get the right one. can you please give me some hint or some URL's from where I can download the pro*C precompilers for windows.i will really appreciate If you could please do this favour to me.ThanksBAlbeer and Tom said...Pro*C is in the Oracle8i client install. If you have the Oracle8i CD or have built a staging area -- you already have the software. There is no separate download for "Pro*c" all by itself. All you need to do is:Insert the Oracle8i CD for either Standard or Enterprise edition.Click on Install/Deinstall product.Click on Next. Select the Oracle8i target Oracle homeClick on Next. Select the option that says"Oracle8i Client 8.1.6.0.0Installs enterprise management tools, networking services, utilities, development tools and PRECOMPILERS and basic client software"Proceed to install Pro*C -- it is in the client software bundle. Download the Oracle software using one of the two link below. If you have access to My Oracle Support (MOS), then it is better to download the 11.2.0.4 version, since this is the first release of 11.2 that is supported on Oracle Linux 7.
If you plan to use the "oracle-rdbms-server-11gR2-preinstall" package to perform all your prerequisite setup, follow the instructions at -yum.oracle.com to setup the yum repository for OL, then perform the following command.
Log back in as oracle anddouble check that your environment variables are as intended. Theenv command lists all of thevariables that are set in your environment, and grep shows you just the lines you want(those with ORA in it).
If not, try adding the files to /.bashrc instead of .bash_profile. Then logout and log back inagain. Also, be certain you are doi
